CANDY
Hello, my name is Candy and I am happy to meet you. I first came to yoga in 2013 and fell in love with the practice. I appreciate that yoga can benefit our whole being. I especially love how yoga is about honoring your individual self - there is always a way to grow one's practice, but we are not in competition. We simply flow and experience the beauty of this practice together. Due to severe scoliosis, my spine was fused in 1992. Because of this, I used to think it was not possible for me to practice (nevermind teach!) yoga. Commitment to my practice and finding knowledgeable yogis helped me understand that yoga is for everyone, and there are adaptations for the postures to make them accessible even when our bodies have limitations. It also helped me further integrate other important aspects of yoga into practice, such as meditation and breathwork. We all know that stress can physically affect our bodies. It was not until I began to research further into polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and ADHD that I realized to what extent this occurs. It became a passion of mine to use yoga to lessen some of the drivers of these conditions and thus mitigate their impact on daily life. Yoga trains not just your body, but your mind. Yoga benefits your bones and muscles, but it also works wonders for your neurological system and your endocrine system! Thus, yoga is an excellent tool for helping to heal the body. I believe in constantly evolving my practice and learning how use it for overall health, happiness, peace, and well-being. I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin. I love the unique benefits of each of these styles. I want to help you nurture your whole self. In my class, I honor you and what you bring to the mat. I first moved to Texas in 2015, moved away to Thailand in 2016, and returned in 2018. While overseas, I became an avid SCUBA diver. If I'm not on my mat, I'd love to be 20 meters underwater swimming with the fish! My husband Danny and I have two daughters. We love to travel all over and we especially enjoy road trips!
I look forward to greeting you on our mats soon.
Namaste.
